As you can see, Barbara Kreft (that's not her in the picture) does dots - abstract pointillism. Nothing outrageous or too complicated going on here. Just easy going and open, uncomplicated abstraction. They're gentle on the mind and would be quite soothing to look at as you sit and sip your coffee or tea, curled up in your favorite chair.
This is an area of painting that has been largely ignored. Cubism came along and everyone dived right in. Pointillism, not so much. And those who did pointillism stayed with realism. I think abstract pointillism is a rich mine of possibilities that's just now being explored.
